Fitness Friday - Turbo Fire

Lets talk TurboFire shall we….

TurboFire can be described as a High-Intensity Kickboxing and interval training program!

I love doing TurboFire! It incorporates dancy moves with punches and kicks and really gets my heart pumping. I have the tendency to get bored with many exercise routines but I find this program doesn’t allow me to get bored because not only does it take a while to learn the moves but there are so many videos to choose from.

TurboFire includes 17 workouts that range from 10-60 minutes. The High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Fire Drills will push you to your cardio limit for 1 minute followed by periods of rest. This creates the After Burn Effect, which means you will keep burning calories all day long! Just 4 minutes of a HIIT can be more effective than 30 to 45 minutes on a treadmill! I have followed the “training” schedule, in the past, in which you workout for 6 days a week for 90 days and had great results with it but obviously my current situation doesn’t allow me the luxury of working out every day. However, I have stuck to my 2-3 day a week workout schedule and have added in my beloved TurboFire workouts!

And for all of you who might be curious about how many calories you are burning during the TurboFire workouts I have added that below! FYI I am using the Mio Alpha 2 heart rate watch with activity tracker to track my calories. NOTE: I usually did the toning videos after a cardio video so the calories burned might be slightly higher then if you were to do the toning videos alone due to my accelerated heartbeat.

Calories I Burned doing TurboFIRE:

  • HIIT 15: 125

  • HIIT 20: 143

  • HIIT 25: 210

  • HIIT 30: 243

  • FIRE 30: 235

  • FIRE 45ez: 340

  • FIRE 45: 326

  • FIRE 55ez: 446

  • FIRE 60: 465 (however my daughter interrupted me during the last 10 minute cool down so it might be slightly more)

  • TONE 30: 130

  • UPPER 20: 134

  • LOWER 20: 152

  • CORE 20: 116

  • ABS 10: 50

  • CIRCUIT 1: 188 in 36 minute strength training class.

  • STRETCH 40: Sorry I didn’t bother with this video, the 10 minutes stretching videos are good enough for me!

  • STRETCH 10: 56

My continuing "body project". I think Turbo Fire has helped me to sculpt my back and arms a bit with all the punches. my next project is Quads.... stay tuned!

I also love how Chalene Johnson has incorporated abdominal, and upper and lower body workout videos into this program to help you really isolate those muscle groups and keep them toned. However, even just the Turbo “HIIT” and “FIRE” videos incorporate punches, kicks and standing ab moves so you are definitely toning all your major muscle groups when you are using the Turbo Fire program!

These videos also come with a meal plan, recipes and a quick 5 day start up program to help you accelerate your results!

You can’t really go wrong with any of the Beach Body videos but TurboFire is my personal fav! What Beach Body workout do you want me to review next?
