Test it Out Thursday - NatraCare Tampons and Pads

You would think you could trust something as sensitive as “personal hygiene products” right….Big Fat WRONG!! Personal hygiene products like tampons and pads from Always or Tampax contain the same dangers that our dirty skincare and makeup products do!

For example most feminine hygiene products contain bleach to get them white… you know… bleach… the same bleach we use on our clothes to get them white. SAY WHAT??? These bleach chemicals are called “dioxins” and can build up in our bodies and cause numerous health problems. Problems which include disruption to our hormone and endocrine systems, abnormal cell growth (cancer) in our abdomen and reproductive organs and can even suppress our immune system.

WOW finding that out was a lot for me to process!

There are also plastic, glue and adhesive chemicals in our tampon applicators and pads. Chemicals like BPA, Phthalates, fragrance and other chemicals that help to neutralize odors. They can cause a host of problems including organ damage, cancer, heart disease and mutations to developing embryos. Since most of these products are made of synthetic materials and not natural substances they can also inadvertently cause a buildup of unhealthy bacteria and yeast infections.

As if that wasn't bad enough we are also at risk from the pesticides used on the cotton crops.

Our private areas are extremely vulnerable to these chemicals, more so then other areas of our bodies.

Once again I am embarrassed that it took me so long to discover how dangerous these products were to my health and well being. Only recently have I switched to Natracare products.

We are all trying to eat organically when possible, so doesn’t it make sense to go organic in this area as well???
