Toss it Out Tuesday - Benefits KA-BROW Eyebrow Gel

I received a sample of Benefits KA-BROW at Sephora about a year ago and I am not going to lie I did like this product! Considering I have the blondest of blond eyebrows it really gave me a nice defined shaped brow. But even though there were a few "benefits" to this eyebrow gel there were also some major negatives... namely some questionable ingredients like Phenoxyethanol (which is a toxin to the skin and an immune/organ and central nervous system disruptor), BHT (which has links to organ system toxicity, allergic reactions and even cell mutations in lab tests) and Polyethylene (which is a plastic product and non-biodegradable). These ingredients convinced me to Toss Out my Benefits Ka-Brow and go on the hunt for a cleaner eyebrow product!

This is the current set that I have and I love it. I even use the matte highlighter as a eye shadow base and the iridescent highlighter to accentuate my brow bone, the inner corners of my eyes and the high points of my cheekbones! It truly a multi-functional product! The brow powder itself can even be used as an eye shadow or even as an eyeliner when applied wet! The extra brushes that come in this set are amazing not only for your brows but applying your eye shadows and highlighters as well. Just play around and you will find many many uses for them!

When you are applying your brows its best to apply the powder first and then use the wax on top to help shape your brows, keep them in place and perfect your look!

If your looking for a more subtle brow look just apply the powder by itself and if your looking for a more intense brow look just dip the powder into the design wax and apply... this provides a much more dramatic and pigmented brow! I also like how Lauren has included 6 brow templates in each kit... it really takes the guess work out of shaping your perfect brow especially for a newbie brow artist!

Currently I am using the blond brow colour, which is the perfect shade for me, it gives me a nice defined brow and considering I have very pale barely there eyebrows it doesn’t give that harsh eyebrow look! Some people may be able to pull off a bold brow look but I really cannot, lol.

I sometimes find it difficult to find the right shade for my brows, usually I don’t get a “blond” option, but Lauren has thankfully formulated not one but two shades for us blond girls (platinum blond and blond)! She has also developed an auburn shade for all my red headed friends!

Take a look at my before (on the top) and after brows (on the bottom)! I can intensify this look if I want but because I am so fair this is the prefect amount of definition for me. I also prefer to do my brows free hand but using one of Lauren's 6 templates provide a much more "professional" looking brow look!
