Test it Out Thursday - FITGLOW Beauty – Lip Colour Serum

FITGLOW Beauty is a company I have been obsessing about for quite some time! They are a Canadian based company who’s founder Anna believes that “Beautiful skin and health go hand in hand and believes that You Are What You Absorb Through Your Food and Your Skincare” and I couldn’t agree with her more!

They have a clean beauty promise and all of their products are ethically sourced, 100% cruelty free, plant based and free from Parabens, Gluten, Perfum, Animal Oils, Musk, Petroleum, Triclosan, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS & SLES), PEG, Dibutyl Phthalate, DEA Compounds, Formaldehyde, Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHA), Mercury, Synthetic Flavor, Tolutene, Chemical Sunscreens, Nano Particles and fillers!

Their products have so many amazing beneficial ingredients in them and their packaging is also equally beautiful. Anything packaged in pink and silver automatically has my heart and my attention! But all kidding aside these products don't need the "pretty" packaging because the contents in the containers speak for themselves!

There has been a huge buzz in particular about their Lip Colour Serums since the day of their debut a few months ago and since then I have been trying to decide which colour to purchase for my very own!

Here’s the thing, they are not just some regular old lip gloss… they are actually skincare for your lips. Yes you heard me right… Skincare for your LIPS. But do you really need “skincare” for your lips??? Without a doubt the answer is a resounding YES and here’s why…. The skin on your lips is very different from the skin on your face or body.

First of all the Stratum Corneum and epidermis barriers on your lips are much thinner than everywhere else on your body which makes them much more vulnerable to damage and more susceptible to developing fine lines. As we age we lose vital collagen and elastin from the dermis layer in our lips which makes the lips appear thinner as we age. And because we don’t have any sweat glands in our lips we need to be proactive and help them maintain as much moisture as possible and help them stay hydrated….

Sooooo where do we go from there…. the answer my friends is FitGlow Lip Colour Serums. This gloss/serum is plant based and gently plumps up the lips without irritation like some of the other lip plumper’s do. The Organic pomegranate plant sterols, beet extract, vegan collagen and antioxidants help to improve the cell structure of the lips which helps to diminish fine lines leaving lips full and soft! Could you ask for anything more???

Take a Look at these Key Ingredients: Organic Pomegranate Sterols – Penetrate the lips and are able to hold double their weight in water to increase hydration, improve moisture barrier function and enhance lip fullness. Vegetable Collagen – Is fundamental to maintaining the structure, firmness and plumpness of the lip and gives a natural plumping effect because of a combination of organic phospholipids from bio ferment extracts that naturally plump the lips without irritation. The moisture in our skin causes these phospholipid vesicles to swell resulting in minimizing the appearance of fine lines and increasing lip fullness.

Organic Beet Extract – Improves lip circulation to promote detoxification and plumpness. Organic Shea Butter – Nourishes and moisturizes lips while providing an environmental barrier and helps to protect them from moisture loss.

I was lucky enough to try a sample of each colour. Pure and Simple sent me a sample (enough for about 2-3 uses) of each colour so I could experience the look and feel of the serums on my lips before I committed to a full size! Unfortunately I didn't have enough product to provide a swatch of each colour on my arm but here is what the colours look like in the little sample containers I received. It might give you a better idea of the colour comparison side by side!

These Lip Colour Serums are a bit more pricey than your average lip gloss, $44.00 Canadian, but they are well worth it in my opinion. You are not only colouring your lips you are treating and protecting them!

They give a good colour payout and they last a very long time for a lip gloss. Mine last until noon or even 1 pm even when I'm drinking my Matcha green tea latte. There is of course some colour transfer but that is to be expected because they are not lip stains.

With other lip products sometime I find myself literally biting off the dry patches on my lips by the end of the day but so far that is not the case with these lip serums, they actually seem to be improving the quality of my lips!

My current favs are Bliss and Ever (I wasn't expecting to love Ever but its honestly the perfect Fall colour!)

All of FITGLOW Beauty products are Cruelty Free, Toxin Free, Gluten Free, a product of Canada (yay), certified organic and their packaging is recyclable!
