Test it Out Thursday - Vapour Beauty

In my quest to find new and innovative clean make-up and skincare products I get so excited when I find companies that offer product samples! Its just such a great way to try out a variety of products so you can really get a sense of how they will work for you!

Vapour Organic Beauty has reinvented Organic beauty with their award winning skincare and makeup line that combines the best antioxidant ingredients with gorgeous colour! Their signature Vapour Herbal Enlightenment Complex will nourish your skin while their signature “lit from within glow” will give you the look and feel of healthy radiance!

Vapour Organic Beauty is all of that and more! They offer so many sample sizes, in fact, almost all of their products come in a sample size variety! Not only that but the customer service is amazing. Initially I had a few problems ordering my samples on line. When I reached out via email to Vapour Beauty regarding the problem a brand ambassador (an actual live person) took the time to call me back to address my issues while answering all the questions I had regarding the products and colour selection! She even threw in some extra samples because of the minor inconvenience I had. I initially purchased 2 sample packs from the Vapour website which was $30 for 10 samples, but she literally doubled my samples! And the samples will last you quite a long time as well!

And this is what arrived in my sample pack! Sorry for the above picture, I had already dipped into my samples before I gave them a photo op!

Since this could get in to a very lengthy review, I think I will speak a bit generally about each product and then go into detail reviews in separate blogs so I can give each product the attention they deserve!

In my sample pack I received the following:

Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation in 3 shades - 110, 115, 120. A full size of this foundation will cost you $50.00 US.

My shade is 115, however I can use the 110 but the 120 is a bit too dark for me. The Soft Focus Foundation is in a liquid form which I tend to prefer and it gives a nice light coverage without being cakey or drying to the skin. This foundation gives you a “lit from within glow” and is formulated to balance normal, sensitive and combination skin while providing a natural soft satin finish. In my opinion that’s exactly what it does. And it glides onto the skin effortlessly!

Atmosphere Luminous Foundation in 3 shades 110, 115, 120. A full size of this foundation will cost you $44.00 US.

Again the best skin match for me is 115. This foundation comes in a stick formulation which is much thicker and might not be suited for oilier skin types. I also feel like the liquid would last longer than the stick foundation but I hear that these foundation sticks work great for contouring! The coverage is great and not cakey at all. It also had relatively low shine breakthrough during the day which surprised me because of its thicker consistency!

Elixir Plumping Gloss in Discreet, Flirt, Honour, Rebel, Flutter, Entice. A full size of these lip glosses will cost you $24.00 US.

I just have to say I love these glosses! Honour is my current favourite and I will definitely be repurchasing a few of these! They feel so nice on the lips and do not leave my lips feeling sticky or tacky like some other lip glosses do!

Here is a breakdown of the colours I received:

Discreet is a warm pinky brown nude

Flirt is a tawny peachy pink

Honour is a sheer golden pink

Rebel is a hot neon pink

Flutter is a classic pink and is carmine free

Entice is a sheer cool plum shot with silver

These lipsticks are very pigmented and long wearing and quite moisturizing too! The lipsticks are even nicer when you pair them with one of Vapour's lip glosses from above!

Stratus Luminous Instant Skin Perfector in colour 902. A full size of this primer will cost you $48.00 US.

This is a primer product which I don’t usually use however I thought I would give it a try! This product comes in three shades (902, 903 and 904) I chose the lightest 902 for fair to medium skin tones, to be honest, it doesn’t really have a colour to it! This primer defuses lines and evens skin tone and texture and provides a luminous finish to the skin! You can wear it alone or under the Atmosphere foundation! The liquid version, Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfecting Primer, is $56.00 US. I think I might have preferred the liquid version however the stick version goes on rather nice and is a good primer if you like to use one! I just don't like to add an extra step to my morning routine.

Essence Restorative Night Treatment A full size of this product is $90.00 US

This product states that it can be used as a daily moisturizer but I think it would be a bit oily for day time use. I prefer to use this product at night under my moisturizer. It leaves my skin very soft in the morning. It claims to assist with cell renewal, brightening the skin and nourishing stressed skin. I only ordered a sample so I wasn’t able to see the full benefits of long term use with this product but it felt really nice and nourishing to the skin.

Visionary Advanced Solution Serum A full size product is 125.00 US

This is said to target the major signs of aging and it is clinically proven to reduce wrinkle depth and volume by up to 39%. It contains skin-loving plant oils and botanicals including Prickly Pear, Olive Squalane, Baobab and Raspberry Seed.

This is a slightly thicker serum that I use at night and again I only purchased a sample so I can’t comment unfortunately on the anti aging effects! But I love how this serum can be used everywhere, on your face, eyelids, lips, neck and décolletage and its suitable for all skin types!

Halo Illuminator A full size of this product is $36.00 US

I love this “illuminator” highlighter. It gives a subtle glow to your cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow or anywhere you want to add a little bit of highlight. This illuminator comes in a stick form and is great for easy application. (see picture above)

Mesmerize Eye Colour (Firefly, Ace and Dusk) These are cream eye shadows and a full size will cost you $22.00 US

I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of these eye shadows. Usually I don’t have much luck with cream eye shadows. They all seem to crease after an hour of wear or completely melt off my eyelids. But these ones actually lasted half the day without any major creasing and they come in such beautiful colours! Again these are in a stick formulation so you can just swipe them across your eyelids and use your fingers to blend them!

They only thing that deterred me from these products was the scent. The foundation, primer and highlighter all had an earthy/basil smell to them that stayed with me all day long. However, that being said after about a week of wearing the products I was able to get “use to” the smell and didn’t notice it as much. It’s not a deal breaker for me but it might affect those who are sensitive to scent.
