Toss it Out Tuesday - NARS Concealer

My go to concealer was NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This stuff was pretty amazing and if you are familiar with the blogging scene, most non-organic beauty bloggers recommend this product! It does conceal your under eye circles and skin imperfections very well, however, it’s a 7 on the Think Dirty App and contains many chemical ingredients.

Some of the ingredients are: Dimethicone, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate and Aluminum Hydroxide (all of which lead to organ system toxicity), Phenoxyethanol (a toxin to the skin and immune/organ system). It also contains Polyethylene which is a plastic product and non-biodegradable.

With all of these toxic chemicals, and many others, included in this product I decided not to repurchase this beloved concealer and took a chance on my staple organic beauty provider, Lauren Brooke.

Of course I love this product, just like all of the other products she offers. And once I made the switch to Lauren Brooke’s concealer I didn’t look back! I have been loving her concealer just as much as I love her foundation!

The concealer has the same consistency as the foundation however it is a bit thicker and provides more coverage. It can even be used as a full coverage foundation for those who need extra coverage!

Once again to get a good spread on the skin I usually warm the product slightly between my two ring fingers and then apply it under my eyes… again with my ring fingers. I also use it anywhere I need a bit more coverage and to reduce any redness or blotchiness I may have on my face.

It’s nice to have found a concealer without all the harmful junk in it! Just look at some of these skin nurturing ingredients and how they benefit your skin!

Key Ingredients:

• Carrot Seed: Antioxidant, nutrient. Supplies a potent antioxidant Vitamin A. Nourishes and regenerates the skin with carotene oils.

• Phytolipid Complex: Jojoba, Rosehip, Neem & Vitamin E Oil. Moisturizing, nourishing, regenerative, anti-bacterial, anti-viral.

• Eyebright: Anti-inflammatory, astringent, reduces redness, swelling and eye area irritations.

• Zinc Oxide: Anti-inflammatory, emollient. Reduces and supports the healing of epidermal irritation, protects against UVA & UVB, soothes the skin.

These products have extra benefits too!! They have skin healing, anti-inflammatory properties and anti-oxidants to help improve the condition of the skin and I swear since I have been using the Lauren Brooke concealer and foundation my skin had gotten better!

I also found that the concealer goes a long way, I can purchase one concealer for every two foundation purchases! My colour is light but Lauren offers 6 different concealer choices so you can find your perfect match!
