How many times have you had to throw out a pair of high heeled shoes because they are too scuffed up to wear?

I can’t tell you how many of my prized shoes I have tossed out because of unsightly scuff marks or just general wear and tear!

I have a beautiful pair of patent (fake) leather red pumps that I refused to throw out because they are the perfect little peep toe platform, the perfect shade of cherry red and the bonus is that I can actually walk in them (I can't say that about every pair of shoes I own), LOL. I didn’t want to throw them out but I didn’t know how on earth I could save them!

So I took them to my local shoe repair shop on a hope and prayer that he could fix them for me, however, just as I suspected he told me there was no way he could save these little red pumps…. then he said something that will change my world forever. He told me to go to the drugstore and find a “matching” colour of nail polish to touch up my shoes with…..WHAT WHAT!! I call myself a glam mommy and I never heard of this trick before????

Okay so I will never recommend using a drugstore nail polish on your nails due to the chemicals in them… in fact I have yet to find a completely “clean” nail polish brand! But I do advocate trying out this trick on your shoes in order to preserve them for a little longer wear time.

That is exactly what I did. I colour-matched a few different nail polishes until I found one that matched perfectly.

No need to retire your old tired pumps anymore ladies… get out there and find the perfect shade of polish for your shoes!. You can even repair your faded black pumps using this techique….

Hey if you were never going to wear the shoes again anyways, isn’t it worth a try…
