Saturday Skin Care - Baby Boo Bamboo Silky Smooth All Natural Baby Lotion

Its time for a little skin care review for baby!

I decided to do this review because I appalled to find out that most of the skin care brands geared to babies or children were filled with the same dangerous chemicals that were loaded in my own skin care products!!

Most baby lotions on the market today contain parabens (endocrine disruptors and possible link to breast cancer), benzoyl alcohol (an irritant), BHT (causes organ system toxicity), Phenoxyethanol (a suspected carcinogen), ethanol (an irritant), propylene glycol and artificial colors and fragrance (causes organ system toxicity).

The one I was using for my daughter, from the well-known Johnsons line, was rated a 9 on the Think Dirty app, even their “Natural” baby lotion was still rated a 9. This was simply unacceptable to me. I was not willing to risk my baby’s health by using this product any longer and I immediately ditched it and went searching for a better alternative.

To my delight I was again able to find a fantastic substitute right at my local drug store with the Baby Boo Bamboo line!

Baby Boo Bamboo Silky Smooth All Natural Baby Lotion

This lotion is an all natural and organic product which is suphate free, gluten free, paraben and DEA free and is rated a 3 on the Think Dirty app. I loved it so much that I started using it myself! It did a great job at moisturizing both of our skin, leaving us feeling silky smooth and smelling of delicious coconut making me feel like I was on a mini vacation. Even my husband commented on the wonderful “coconut” scent and if you know my husband he is not a fan of anything scented!

I didn’t need to look beyond this lotion for my baby because it did a wonderful job moisturizing her delicate skin, it had a very low rating on the Think Dirty App and it was a great deal at the drug store for about $10 (and if you are able to purchase it on sale you can even save a few extra bucks). It comes in a large 300 ml squeeze bottle so it does last for a quite a while depending on your usage. The product applied very smoothly and a little did go a long way.... did I mention the heavenly smell, lol.

Boo Bamboo has several other products from their line for babies and adults so I recommend trying them out. I may just be trying out a few new products from the line for myself!
