I was super excited to test out this foundation because I was able to buy it right from Shoppers Drug Mart and it was rated as a “3” on the Think Dirty app.

I have to say the packaging on this product did a great job getting me excited about trying it out ASAP ... It claimed to be 70% organic, 100% of a natural origin, SPF 40, waterproof, gym proof, 10K proof, GMO free, paraben free, free of synthetic preservatives, free of harsh chemicals and free of fragrance and colours. It is also claimed to give a natural coverage while hydrating, nourishing, soothing, protecting and brightening the skin. The ingredient list seemed impressive as well with a kale, carrot, lemon and quinoa protein blend and a super berry antioxidant complex. It looked very good on paper and I couldn’t wait to get it on my face, however, my excitement ended there…

First of all, I was very disappointed in the colour selection. There were only two options, light and medium. I chose the light which was still too dark for my skin tone and it made my face a not so nice shade of orange. Not only was the colour selection poor but the coverage, for me, was not great. The consistency appeared to be "okay" until I started applying it to my face. It was sticky, it seemed to break down on my face and the application was very streaky. It also gave my face a shiny look, even within seconds of application. I tried to use a setting powder but it just couldn’t correct the streaky, orange look this “foundation” gave me. That being said its not really a foundation, its more of a tinted moisturizer and I haven’t had much luck with the tinted moisturizer selection in the past.

I wanted to love this product and I was hoping a drug store brand would solve my search for a cleaner foundation but I really didn’t like this product at all. I ended up bringing it back to the store for a refund and I was lucky enough to get one.

Unfortunately, I am not able to recommend this product. For me this item is better left on the shelf then on my face. But you might have better luck than I did if you don’t mind spending 20 bucks to "try it out", and you have an affinity for tinted moisturizers, it may be an option for you.

I have to say after this failed introduction to “cleaner” products I was very apprehensive about continuing the journey. After all what good is a safer cosmetic if it doesn’t perform as well as the traditional ones??? Thank goodness I have found a “clean” foundation that I love and I will post my review on that shortly….stay tuned!
