Live Clean Fresh Face Collection

Live Clean Fresh Face Collection

I bought this nice little travel pack at Shopper's Drug Mart when I started my search for a "cleaner" skin care routine. At a $15 price tag it seem to fit the bill. It's a simple 4 piece system that allowed me to try several products from the line without breaking the bank.

All of these products are petroleum, paraben and phthalate free, which sold me on these products.

The line uses a Botanical Orchid-C Complex - featuring orchid extract, vitamin C and a minimum of 98% plant-based ingredients. The orchid extract has some nice antioxidant properties and also draws in and hold in moisture all day.

Live Clean (Fresh Face) Daily Foaming Cleanser

  • Rated as a 5 on the Think Dirty App

I loved that this is a self foaming cleanser. If you're like me and you like a good lather in your facial wash this will do it for you! It did a good job at cleaning my face and getting all of my make up off but I preferred to keep this cleanser to night time use as it had a tendency to dry out my skin in the morning.

Live Clean (Fresh Face) Daily Soothing Daily Moisturizer

  • Rated as a 5 on the Think Dirty App.

This was a nice moisturizer for daily use. It moisturized my face quite well, wasn't irritating and was light enough to wear under make-up. It uses plant based technology in the form of safflower oleosomes which apparently releases moisture all day long. How cool is that! It did a really good job of moisturizing my face during the day without giving me excess oil breakthrough by the end of the day.

The only thing missing from this moisturizer is the SPF. I do have one in my foundation so it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Live Clean (Fresh Face) Soothing Night Cream

  • Rated as a 3 on the Think Dirty App

I really enjoyed this night cream. It was slightly thinker than the day cream but not as emollient as I would like it to be for my skin during the winter months. Although it was still pretty good at moisturizing my skin at night. I did have to apply this cream twice before bed to make sure my face wouldn't be dried out in the morning but again that is probably due to the winter we have been having.

I think you could use it as both a day and night cream because its light enough to wear under your make up and its moisturizing enough to wear it at night. So this could save you some money if you are looking for a dual purpose day/night cream. My favorite part is that it was rated a 3 on the Think Dirty App and that is a WIN for me!!

Live Clean (Fresh Face) Soothing Facial Scrub

  • Not currently rated on the Think Dirty App (I am assuming this would be rated similar to the products above)

Unlike a lot of the other scrubs on the market this one seemed a bit gentler on my face when I applied it to wet skin. It definitely helped to exfoliate my skin and the grains seemed "less grainy" then some of the others I have used in the past, maybe because they use finely ground corn cob as the exfoliator. I would definitely use this again due to its gentle nature.

My Verdict: I enjoyed using these products and while I don't think they will be getting rid of the newly formed lines on my face or turn back the clock any time soon, it's a very good and complete line to start with and all of the products work well together. They had a very light pleasant smell and it didn't cause any irritation to my skin. I bought this as a travel pack and it came with a nice little bag for travelling. I like the fact that it's a plant based line and I look forward to trying more products from Live Clean in the future!
